IPPS-Iscte uses several informatic tools to support its training programs.
In order to access to the IT services, you need valid access credentials for the Iscte services you have an account in.
The access credentials are composed by the username and the password. “User name” corresponds to the username associated to the user and qualified with @iscte-iul.pt. Here’s an example:
Each user is responsible for his or her credentials (do not use a personal password from another accounts). Iscte IT services will never ask for your password.
FenixEdu service allows certified users (students, teachers, investigators, employees and candidates to use services and functionalities in order to simplify the daily life of those who study or work.
FenixEdu provides its users with features such as students attendance, summary management, posting grades, applications, timetables, enrolments, fees, room reservations, among others.

Iscte assigns to all students attending courses with ECTS an email account (
The access to Iscte account is done by the Office 365 portal. In order to access to your account you should go to http://mail.iscte.pt and type your student credentials (the same credentials you use to access Fénix).
There are 2 e-Learning platforms available:
- Iscte Moodle platform
- IPPS Moodle platform
At the beginning of the course you will receive information about which platform will be used.
Iscte provides the entire academic community with a teaching and learning management platform (e-Learning platform). This platform allows the management and distribution of the academic content as well as other communication and evaluation features. This is a way to complement the activities developed face-to-face.
This tool is able to support pedagogical models developed in a technologically advanced working environment, that allows a strong interaction between teachers and students, promoting cooperative learning as a methodology in the acquisition and evaluation of knowledge.

You can access IPPS Moodle platform here: https://elearningipps.iscte-iul.pt.
On the platform will be posted every necessary document and information on the course.
When starting a course that uses the IPPS Moodle platform you will receive your account credentials in your email.
This platform is the tool to conduct online teaching synchronously.
Videoconferencing comprises a set of interactive communication technologies which allow simultaneous collaboration between two or more locations through video and audio transmission.
Videoconferencing is suitable for all real-time collaboration situations where two or more participants are geographically separated.
It is possible to access Iscte resources from home via VPN (Virtual Private Network), establishing a secure connection between the personal computer and the Iscte network.
By establishing a virtual private network (VPN) your home computer behaves as if it were physically connected to Iscte. That way you can access services for which subscription depends on accesses being made using an IP address assigned to the Iscte.
Among these services is the access to many scientific publications searchable through the b-on platform (from FCCN) and to a lot of databases.
You can also access other services, such as remote desktop, by setting up Iscte's VPN.
